**About the role**

Reporting to the Assistant Principal/Director of Learning, the Head of Library Learning and Educational Resources will lead and oversee all aspects of Bialik's libraries from Early Years to the Senior Years and develop the libraries as hubs of learning, innovation and activity.

**Primary Responsibilities**

Supervise the overall operation of the libraries, including budgeting, acquisitions, cataloguing, circulation, and workflow systems.
Maintain and promote a welcoming environment for students and educators that is conducive to Cultures of Thinking and the Reggio Emilia Approach.
Lead the goals, policies and programs for educational/library resources and information literacy of the College.
Oversee the digital library infrastructure, including databases, e-books, and multimedia resources.
Promote reading and enjoyment of literature through curriculum collaborations, author visits, displays, Book Week, clubs, volunteers, curricular and co-curricular activities.
Curate and expand the physical and digital collection of resources to support the curriculum and diverse learning needs.
Provide training and assistance to students and educators in the acquisition and optimal use of information resources and technology.
Head of Library and Educational Resources will include a 0.5 FTE Teaching load.

**Skills and Experience**

Experience as Head of Library Resources (desirable but not essential).
Post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Services or related field (desirable but not essential).
Current VIT registration.
Outstanding communication skills.
Demonstrated excellence in managing and maximising physical and digital resources.
A desire to understand and embed Cultures of Thinking and the Reggio Emilia Approach.
