**The Role**
This position is also known as the G6 for Army Aviation Command (AVNCOMD) in accordance with the NATO staff structure. The G6 is to provide CIS, ICT and Cyber advice to AVNCOMD in order to support operations in defence of Australia and its National Interests.

Specific tasks include:

- Provide advice to Commander (COMD) AVNCOMD on CIS, ICT, and Cyber affecting capability generation.
- Manage AVNCOMD ICT requirements through the Defence Group known as Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG).
- Manage spectrum for the AVNCOMD through the HQ Forces Command (FORCOMD) spectrum management team.
- Manage Communications Security (COMSEC) for AVNCOMD and maintain close relationship with Defence Cryptographic Controlling Authority (DCCA).
- Ensure compliance with policies and best practice.
- Provide advice to COMD AVNCOMD on CIS, ICT, and Cyber affecting capability generation.

**About our Team**
The team is a small workgroup within the Chief of Staff branch of Headquarters Army Aviation Command (AVNCOMD). The role will have a degree of autonomy in the development of the command level communications framework.
