These resources are accessed by in house staff, preferred suppliers, community legal centres, the magistracy and the judiciary. Library staff provide training and support in accessing and effectively utilising these resources. As the library technician, you will contribute to the provision of high quality library and information services to meet the needs of the library's internal and external customers.

**In this role you will**:

- Manage the materials in the library's collection of monographs, serials, audio visual materials etc. including maintaining the catalogue and serials modules of the library management system, end processing and negotiating claims with publishers.
- Maintain library acquisitions and financial systems and manage ordering and payments.
- Maintain the loans and interlibrary loans systems, including updating the library's holdings in the national bibliographic database.
- Help library customers to use library collections, systems, products, and services in an online environment and provide technical support to local and remote customers.
- Help provide current awareness services to local and remote library customers, including writing abstracts for news items, and maintaining electronic current awareness systems.
- Help provide reference and research services.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external library customers and with external suppliers, and participate in appropriate networking activities.
- Contribute to planning, development and review of library and information policies, procedures, systems and services, and document relevant processes and procedures.
- Model the values of respect, quality and accountability.
