**Who are we**:
With the enactment of the Water Act 2007 (Cth), the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) was established as an independent expertise-based statutory agency.

For the first time in the Basins history, one Basin-wide institution is responsible for planning the Basins water resources, with all planning decisions made in the interest of the Basin as a whole.

Our most important work is to:

- prepare, implement and review an integrated plan for the sustainable use of the Basins water resources
- operate the River Murray system and efficiently deliver water to users on behalf of partner governments
- measure, monitor and record the quality and quantity of the Basins water resources
- supporting, encourage and conduct research and investigations about the Basins water resources and dependent ecosystems
- advise the Australian Government Minister responsible for water on the accreditation of state water resource plans
- provide water rights information to facilitate water trading across the Basin
- engage and educate the Australian community about the Basins water resources.

**Who are we looking for**:
The
**Program Officer** will:

- Contribute to and support delivery of activities in line with the Joint Venture government arrangements.
- Contribute to the delivery of the River Murray programs of river works. Including stakeholder engagement, development of reports, reviews, investigations, and monitoring
- Contribute to the delivery of the Lake Victoria Cultural Heritage program, and compliance with an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit. Including stakeholder engagement, development of reports, reviews, investigations, and monitoring
- Manage relationships with stakeholders and anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations
- Provide support and assistance to other Riparian, Cultural Heritage and Environmental assets projects and investigations across the Assets Program as required
