**About the role**
The purpose of the Configuration Management Specialist role is to develop, implement and manage plans, processes and procedures to ensure that configuration baselines, and technical artefacts and datasets, are suitably maintained to meet Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) availability, safety, quality, cost, schedule and contract requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage plans, processes and procedures to maintain CCSM configuration databases;
- Provide technical artefacts and configuration data to support engineering and configuration outputs such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs);
- Participate in design reviews and Configuration Control Board (CCBs);
- Ensure that configuration changes are captured and recorded;
- Identify and action efficiency and improvement opportunities;
- Conduct and report on Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) as required;
- Management of configuration, technical artefacts and technical datasets to support engineering outputs;
- Working closely with the Collins Engineering Team to ensure maintenance and accuracy of Babcock configuration information, and to provide management and performance reporting;
- Comply with company HSEQ policies, processes, procedure, and statutory HSEQ legislation, regulations and codes of best practice;
- Keep up to date in relevant technical areas and develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide effective delivery
**About you**
Essential requirements:
- Knowledge and experience in configuration management, and technical writing, ideally for military / naval platforms, systems and equipment;
- Business knowledge and expertise in operating in a commercial environment;
- Diploma of Engineering, or similar;
- Qualification in Configuration Management; and
- Five to ten years of industry experience
Desirable:
- Degree qualified engineer, or similar.
