**We currently have one (1x) Fixed-term, Full-time Vacancy available for immediate filling for a period of up to 32 months, with the possibility of extension.**
**A Pool will also be running for a period of 12 months.**

**About the role**
The position is responsible for the co-ordination of the Legacy Collection Project. This involves the organisation and logistics in the registration, curation, and database entry of specimens held in the Natural Sciences Collection at the WA Museum’s Collection and Research Centre in Welshpool. The position has a key role in the recruitment and day-to-day coordination of Volunteers assisting with the project.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a challenge, and working with a large museum Collection in a team dedicated to preserving and researching WA’s Natural Science collection.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Work collaboratively with Curators and Collections Managers in the interdisciplinary Science team.
- Take the lead in digitising multiple collections, making them accessible to a global audience. This includes the development of workflows.
- Supervise and provide training to small teams of Volunteers and students in the digitisation of specimens.

- Organisational and analytical skills related to areas of specimen recording and digitisation.
- Knowledge of contemporary museum and curatorial practices as it relates to natural science collections.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills, and an ability to develop and deliver training to other Museum staff and volunteers.

**Pool Recruitment**
This Pool will be open for a period of** 12 months** from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. **Fixed term, full time, and part time** appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
Applicants found suitable in this Pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) for the duration of the Pool.
