**The company**: Your new employer is a leading people solutions business with national coverage. Over the past 30 years, they have created a market-leading position in a market that never slows. The business currently employs close to 3,000 weekly paid contractors through a team of 4 payroll officers.
**The role**: As Payroll Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the entire Payroll function including compliance & legislation concerns. Working with an established team, you will help to identify current process faults and implement solutions to minimise pay errors and mistakes.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Managing all aspects end to end of the high-volume payroll function
- Managing payroll team to deliver weekly payroll
- Processing of all matters specific to the payroll function, including but not limited to:
- Entry of payroll information into the general ledger, and reconciliation
- Entry and reconciliation of payroll information
- Payroll Journals
- Award payments and related payroll deductions
- Payroll queries and adjustments
- Terminations
- Month-end reporting
- Database maintenance and update
- The ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
- Provide training and mentoring to develop and enhance team performance
- Consult with Staff Engagement on complex award interpretation issues
- Monitor and ensure that quality standards are met
- Suggesting new processes to improve efficiency
- Identifying problems and improvements in processes and procedures
- Recording and taking action to problem solve and make improvements, and informing others as required
