- Applications are invited from suitably qualified instrumental music teachers for a 0.4 EFT Instrumental Music Coordinator in the metropolitan North Eastern Victoria Region (NEVR). The role description and key selection criteria are included below.
**The position is effective from 6 October 2025 to 9 April 2027.**
- The 0.4 allocation will be based at the NEVR Music Office, Mullauna Secondary College, Springfield Road Mitcham. The position requires the successful applicant to be available for the position for a full day to allow for appropriate guidance and training in the role.
- The successful applicant will be a member of the metro NEVR Instrumental Music Team and will work collaboratively with the metro NEVR principals' reference group and the NEVR Service Support Branch Manager, to provide support to schools to improve instrumental music program delivery, including provision of professional learning for teachers.

Instrumental Music Coordinators will provide effective leadership and support for instrumental music teachers and schools in the NEVR, collaborating within their own team and with their respective leadership group.
**Selection Criteria**:
**SC1** Demonstrated high level of knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated high level of ability to respond to student learning needs.
**SC2** Demonstrated high level of ability to plan for and implement high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
**SC3** Demonstrated high level of ability to monitor and assess student learning. Demonstrated high level of ability to use data to inform teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
**SC4** Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated high level of ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.
**SC5** Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated high level of ability to reflect upon practice and engage in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
**Role**:
**NEVR Instrumental Coordinator Key Responsibilities**
- Contribute to innovation by investigating, identifying, and recommending opportunities for improvement in instrumental music.
- Contribute to the development of team and project plans through specialised knowledge in policy, programs, and initiatives in instrumental music.
- Ensure that the allocated tasks/projects and responsibilities undertaken are of a high quality and achieved within required timelines and make optimal use of available resources.
- Monitor and evaluate issues, consult with stakeholders, and provide advice regarding the provision of instrumental music in the metro NEVR region.
- In consultation with the metro NEVR principals¿ reference group, contribute to the identification of issues by recognising opportunities for improvement and initiating actions to support improvement within NEVR instrumental music programs.
- Ensure that accountabilities and outcomes are met and regularly reported upon.
- Actively participate in the annual Performance and Development Plan review process.
