**Job Description**:
The Risk Manager is a strategic support role within the Australia and New Zealand market (A/NZ) and will report into the** **Senior Finance Director, APAC**.** This role will be accountable for ensuring we maintain an effective first line of defense and providing support to the Exec and senior management of the BU function in the identification, assessment, management and reporting of risk. The Risk Manager plays a key role in ensuring that we maintain a strong control environment, monitoring the BU compliance with internal policies and regulations, and maintaining high standards in the quality and resolution of issue and loss event management.
This role will also be required to collaborate with other risk roles in the wider community with the aim of fostering robust, consistent disciplines and ways of working for 1st line risk. It is also accountable for monthly Risk & Control MI and performance dashboards which act as a single lens on our current status.
The role ensures that risk and control management is integrated into local decision-making activities, strategies, plans, services and capabilities. It will also identify and suggest opportunities to reduce risk exposure and improve overall risk management performance.
**What you’ll be doing**
- _Risk Management_
- Quarterly Creation and maintenance of market Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) within our internal reporting system
- Provision of risk reporting on behalf of market to stakeholders within all three lines of defense
- Driving maturity and effectiveness of risk management activities aligned with global policies and standards
- _Controls Effectiveness_ - Capture, assessment and testing effectiveness of key controls for market risks
- _Issues Management_** - **Capture, triage, maintenance and reporting of market issues data. Responsible for overall issue management and root cause analysis
- _Risk Governance - _Facilitating and chairing a regular Risk Management Board (RMB), including owning and maintaining Terms of Reference (ToRs) and maintaining a log of actions/decisions
- _Risk Community Collaborator - _Accountable for creating and fostering a cohesive and collaborative approach within the wider 1st line risk community
**Qualifications**:
**More about you**
- At least 5 years of applied operational risk management experience.
- Previous experience as Risk & Compliance officer / analyst is preferable
- Risk Management training and / or qualifications are helpful, although not essential
- An ability to build a strong internal network across multiple stakeholder groups, including Global Experian teams
- Excellent communication, written and presentation skills - able to operate credibly with senior stakeholders
- Highly proactive, strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
