The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Head to Health Kids) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide an efficient and responsive mental health Social Work service within identified models of care
- Utilise knowledge of Social Work theories and frameworks in understanding the impact of the environment and culture on the development of mental illness
- Undertake routine psychosocial assessments for children under 12 years to support diagnosis, treatment, education and case management
- Utilise well informed knowledge of the child protection system to provide information and support to families and to the multi-disciplinary team

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- A tertiary degree in Social Work
- Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Driver licence
- Blue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $76 747 - $112 805 per annum

Health Kids-Queensland Gold Coast is a multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty service within the Gold Coast Child and Youth Mental Health Services that delivers child centred and family focused services driven by a strength focused culture in line with the Whole Child Approach. H2HK-Q Gold Coast will provide a seamless service for children under 12 years experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties that effectively integrates primary, secondary, and tertiary services by working in partnership across all sectors.
