The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Child Development Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver professional level social worker services to children presenting with complex and varied developmental and behavioural difficulties
- Efficiently and effectively manage a clinical caseload for clients that require social worker support within the Child Development Service
- Utilise competent negotiation, consultation, advocacy and interpersonal skills to deliver services to consumers, their families, and carers

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card - QLD Health will meet the cost)
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be completed

Salary
- Permanent part time (45.6 hrs p.f.)
- Base salary ranging from $39.20 - $54.24 per annum

The Child Development Service is a community-based multidisciplinary health service involved in the assessment and management of children referred with concerns of development and or behaviour. Through innovation and family/child centred care, Gold Coast Health envisions becoming a world-class provider of child development services. The purpose of the service is to clarify the reasons for a child's developmental problems through informal and formal assessments and offer therapy intervention where indicated. Based in Southport.
