Global Manager, Data Strategy and Architecture **17th January, 2025** Join this well regarded Data Capability team delivering a sophisticated, modern data platform that is embedded in the day-to-day operations of the business and take this data capability /maturity to the next level Drive best practices within the organisation for predictive and prescriptive analytics, and further develop the AI capability as it aligns with the organisational vision. Lead a small, strong team to create and maintain robust data products that support the needs of the organisation, from both business and technical perspectives, whilst managing costs, efficiency and resilience of the data platform in its entirety. You'll also help continue the business intelligence journey, ensuring that information is democratised and reliable, so the business can continue to make strategic decisions based on good information. Direct Reports: Cloud Data Architect, Data Product Owner, Tableau Developer THE ROLE - Define the vision for data strategy and architecture, aligning to technology, product and strategies, and lead to that vision. - Contribute expertise to AI strategy and collaborate with AI vendors to further the data maturity journey. - Consult widely within the organisation to discern high-value data deliverables and incorporate those deliverables into the wider roadmap. - Be hands-on in the development of data assets, such ELT pipelines, ML experiments and models. - Be accountable for the performance, reliability and cost of all components of the data platform. - Maintain positive relationships with vendors, advocating your best interests with respect to contract renewals, product enhancements and platform issues. - Maintain a highly motivated and engaged team, with low attrition and high degree of accountability and ownership. - Demonstrate strong leadership by mentoring team members, sharing knowledge, and empowering others to mentor and support their peers. YOU - Demonstrated experience using the Databricks platform, particularly with regard to machine learning functionality. - Strong statistics and mathematics background, with demonstrated experience implementing this knowledge into businesses for the purposes of prescriptive analytics. - Exceptional SQL skills, alongside strong and recent experience using Python and/or R in the data science context. - Knowledge of data integration patterns and platforms, including iPaaS and database replication platforms. - Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and practices, with a preference for experience and certification within the AWS ecosystem. - Deep experience advancing data maturity in a medium-to-large sized organisation, including business intelligence and AI. - Experience leading a dedicated data team. - Recent, demonstrable hands-on experience with data technologies.
