**The Opportunity**

As a Payroll Officer in the Medibank People Services Team, you will be responsible for processing manual and automated payments to staff while ensuring compliance with all related legislation.

In this role, you will also be researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve employee and management payroll issues. With your proactive approach to situations and process improvement mindset, you will be able to foresee alternative solutions to any potential challenges.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Ensuring salaries and wages are distributed accurately and on time as per EBA, Award, Employment Contracts, and other legislative requirements
- Interpreting awards/agreements/contracts
- Ensuring all timesheets, payroll changes, records, and other related material is received before the close of the payroll run
- Preparing, balancing, processing, and reconciling payroll
- Preparing management reports based on information within the payroll system
- Undertaking required statutory reporting
- Resolving/answering queries relating to payroll across the company

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in a similar Payroll Officer role
- Evident experience with human resource information systems and computerized payroll systems including SAP
- You will have the ability to present complex information concisely
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate excel skills (V look up/ Pivot tables).
