**About the role**:
The Data Governance Analyst primary responsibility is to support embedding sustainable data governance across Coles and maximising the value of strategic data platform investment.

Including: supporting domain data stewards, management of enterprise metadata and master data, identification and management of data quality issues and controls, uplift business data literacy, lead and champion data governance best practices; and operationally manage data governance controls through facilitation and collaboration across information stakeholders.

**Your primary responsibilities will be to**:

- Configure metadata tools and data models to meet Coles’ specific metadata attributes and hierarchies
- Identify, prioritise and manage roadmap of onboarding information assets to metadata tools (through managed services, projects or directly facilitated by the resource)
- Drive automated classification of information assets
- Embed metadata processes into project delivery lifecycle
- Establish metadata standards and processes for new capabilities
- Define best practice examples of metadata content (e.g. Business Glossary)
- Engage and support enterprise wide understanding of enterprise metadata (metrics, attributes and terms)
- Identify metadata tool user training requirements and schedule workshops
- Conduct training workshops and work closely with Change & Enablement
- Champion Information Custodian / Stewardship roles and lead adoption of governance tools at Coles

**About you and your skills***:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in data governance roles (e.g. custodian, steward, metadata manager, data quality)
- Experience in implementing metadata management software and solutions to support governance programs
- Experience in data stewardship roles or support of data stewards
- Experience in roles across the Information Management (IM) life-cycle: data management, privacy & security, analytics, governance, information architecture & data modelling, processes, technologies and methodologies.
- Experience in designing, implementing and managing sustainable governance practices (including process automation and machine learning to scale data enrichment)
- Experience in business change methodologies (including user training)
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or business experience
- Commercial acumen.
- Strong written, verbal communication and facilitation skills.
