**Context**

**UWA College** is The University of Western Australia’s new pathway institution. Designed to prepare international students for success at UWA, students will benefit from a tailored learning experience across a range of Foundation and Diploma programs - providing the ideal preparation for students to continue their studies at UWA.

UWA College is operated and run under contract to the University by INTO University Partnerships. INTO is an organisation working in partnership with 25 leading universities in the UK, USA, and Australia. Investing in the development of world-class international student centres, INTO specialises in preparing students for undergraduate and postgraduate study.

**About the role**

The Student Engagement Coordinator is a Gen Z and student engagement champion, developing a multi-faceted social programme that meets the needs of international students studying at UWA College. They will also support colleagues within the student services team to provide advice, guidance and administration support in an efficient and effective manner on all matters relating to individual student needs. As one of the first point of contacts for students, their exemplary customer service skills will be key to building successful relationships within The University of Western Australia, internally across the INTO organisation and with external stakeholders. The Student Engagement Coordinator will implement a program of continual engagement with students encouraging them to develop a friendship/study balance.

The Student Engagement Coordinator reports to the Head of Student Services UWA College and will support the Head of Student Services in the delivery of the operational objectives of the Student Services team, and will manage and supervise the Welcome Desk Officer and Student Ambassador(s).

**About you**

As the right person you will demonstrate through your CV and covering letter that you possess the following capabilities:

- Recent experience of working in an engagement and client focused role
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent, or relevant industry experience.
- A sound understanding of the comprehensive role of international education providers.
- An interest in other nationalities and cultures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- An ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines with a high attention to detail, while working under pressure.
- Proficiency is social media platforms and wider communication systems in working with Gen Z’s.
- Ability to build and manage relationships with peers, senior managers, university stakeholders, parents and students from a range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to put in place procedures that are effective and efficient and produce timely management information.
- Initiative and problem-solving capability.
- A sound understanding of mental health needs of young adults.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees and students at all levels.

**Location**

This role is based at UWA College on the The University of Western Australia Crawley campus in Perth, Western Australia. Flexibility is required to meet the demands of the post, including occasional out of hours and weekend working.
