**About the opportunity**

The Cloud Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the squads building a cloud environment that enables engineers to quickly build stateless, idempotent, ephemeral, fault tolerant and highly available services. We do this by providing a set of standards, guidelines, tooling and training.

You’ll be a leader who actively contributes to the Swyftx culture of technical excellence and collaboration, team engagement and professional development all while enabling our digital currency exchange to transform into a global platform that will serve millions of customers in the future.

**What you’ll do**:

- Developing and leading the Cloud roadmap and target state.
- Provide ongoing advice, assistance, and training to direct reports.
- Technical hands on coding and scripting - you will be hands on in this role.
- Use your experience as a leader to help us build world-class engineering teams that focus on scalability, flexibility and resilience whist supporting a positive impact on the team.
- Have effective 1:1's with your team members.
- Implement new processes, documentation, tools, and ways of working that promote technical excellence and empower teams and individuals.
- Provide a combination of people and technical leadership, work alongside engineers and jump into the deep end of technical challenges when there is a need.
- You’ll contribute to strategy, planning, and execution of complex technical projects, and cross group initiatives while empowering your teams to collaborate on strategic initiatives, achieve their goals and meet delivery expectations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, education, mentorship, and development throughout the team.
- Coach the improvement of Agile software development practices: Your team's technical practices are continuously evaluated and improved to ensure we are always delivering high-quality software that is secure, robust and scalable at a consistent cadence.
- Closely collaborate with leadership to formulate product vision by steering the business from a technology perspective, aligning work streams, and achieving short-term and long-term strategic goals.

**About you**:

- Extensive experience as a people leader who develops an engineering culture that leads to high-performing, self-sufficient teams while having a deep understanding of the technical aspects of engineering excellence.
- Experience of solution architecture and high-level design with an aim to simplify the landscape and present options, recommendations, estimation and technical planning.
- Strong AWS Cloud experience.
- You have successfully delivered projects in a large-scale cloud based environment.
- Prior working experience with Kubernetes.
- You’ll have a product focused mindset in the way you work.
- Interested in the local software engineering community, engaging in community events and encouraging your teams to do the same.
