An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our Australia Zoo Marketing team in Full Time capacity as an Events Coordinator
This position works within the Marketing and Events Team to ensure the smooth functioning of all Australia Zoo’s major and minor events and to ensure a customer-focused, responsive and professional service is provided at all times.

This position is responsible for the coordination and planning of events at Australia Zoo. This position is also responsible for supporting the Wedding and Event Executive with weddings, proposals, and special events, managing the Adopt-an-Animal program, supporting group sales events where required, and supporting management of the sales inbox when needed.
A successful applicant must be enthusiastic, mature-minded, confident, well-presented and able to demonstrate a high level of work-ethic and initiative. Customer service skills are also a must to be successful in this role.
**Duties include**:
- Australia Zoo event planning and execution, inclusive of: event conception and/or revision in line with Senior Management approval; coordination and management of event contractors; liaison with internal departments regarding event requirements; event operational logistics, including development and distribution of run sheets, order of proceedings and staff memos, event team management, and bump in and bump out management; on-the-day operation of the event; and, post-event reporting.
- Working with the Graphics team to brief and arrange approval for relevant design components, including map inserts, internal signage, and animal trail signage.
- Working with the Food and Beverage team to arrange event requirements, such as event specials and catering needs.
- Working with the Retail team to arrange retail specials and prizes.
- Working with Curators and Animal Head of Departments to arrange any animal requirements and seek guidance and approval for animal trail content.
- Working with the Operations Manager and Workplace Health and Safety team to ensure event WHS compliance.
- Deposit and final billing reconciliation and invoicing of event-related expenses.
- Assistance with Wildlife Warrior events when required.
- Strategy development and close ongoing liaison with the Sales Team, Advertising & Marketing.
- Creation and development of marketing and sales material, in conjunction with Advertising and Digital Manager.
- Organise and coordinate team assisting with Zoo events.
- Manage Adopt-an-Animal Program.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Experience in a similar event/wedding role.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise based on events taking place.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and website software.
- Strong availability including weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
