Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Procurement and Contracts Officer on a contract for 12 months.

**Position Overview**

The EL1 Procurement and Contracts (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the Procurement functions of the NDIA.

The position is an important team leadership position within the NDIA and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the work area.

The EL1 Procurement and Contracts (Labour Hire) will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the Procurement functions. The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Consulting and collaborating with internal stakeholders and business areas, providing a combined education and business intelligence function to identify upcoming issues that require action, further advice or forward planning.
- Working collaboratively with NDIA business areas as a procurement business partner, and managing a team to develop market approach documentation, evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts.
- Leading an integrated approach to identifying procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting the planning activities within the wider team.
- Ensuring NDIA procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the NDIA Procurement Policy.
- Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs), the NDIA Procurement Framework, and Agency policies and procedures.
- Managing regular policy and process reviews for continuous business improvement in order to benefit the business clients and improving procurement business partnership.
