**About us**:
Regional Road Freighters is a family-owned logistics management business based in Forbes NSW.

We have a loyal client base across the east coast of Australia who we provide logistics services for daily.

We specialise in logistics and warehousing moving everyday general freight items to machinery across the eastern states of Australia.

We are currently seeking reliable, punctual, motivated and enthusiastic Operations Manager to join our team based in Melbourne.

**About the position**:
Based in our Truganina depot, the position is open to operations managers of all levels who would be required to oversee the day-day operations of the Victorian local freight movements as well as movements across Vic, SA and Tasmania while liaising with other managers to ensure freight movements are carried out efficiently, effectively and safely in line with customer requirements.

The freight is predominantly tautliner palletised freight and occasionally open trailers transporting machinery.

**Successful applicants must have**:

- A current C class driver license (HR or higher is an advantage)
- Drivers license print out no older than 6 months
- A commitment to workplace safety
- Clear communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to use Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Understanding of Chain of Responsibility, mass and fatigue laws
- Administer Fatigue Management or willing to obtain (TLIF0006)
- Forklift license or willing to obtain
- Sound knowledge of load restraint methods for various freight items
- Attention to detail with customer requirements, requests and paperwork
- Strong negotiating skills
- Physically fit

**What you need to be able to do**:

- Manage staff to ensure seamless delivery operations with a focus on safety and meeting customer expectations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize transport operations, including route planning, vehicle and asset utilisation and driver scheduling.
- Lead and supervise drivers, providing leadership, guidance and training as needed.
- Manage staff including recruitment and training.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), OH&S regulations, Mass Management, and Fatigue Management, driving compliance by internal staff and external subcontractors.
- Manage vehicle maintenance and repairs whilst ensuring fleet readiness and minimising downtime.
- Managing relationships with all clientele and business partners, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance.
- Manage delays in freight delivery or collections and vehicle breakdowns.
- Have ability to form and grow relationships with all clientele
- Have ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and commitments.

Pay: From $56,406.67 per year
