The Economic Research and Analysis (ERA) Unit forms part of the Transport Policy Branch that shapes the long-term vision for the transport system and sets new directions and priorities for TMR and the Queensland government. ERA contributes to TMR and government objectives and priorities through supporting the delivery of evidence-based projects and providing economic expertise to inform strategic decision-making and guide policy development. Some of ERA's key projects include:

- Transport Network Pricing
- Heavy Vehicle Road Reform
- In-house Models
- Development of Assessment Methodologies
- Economic Updates

In the role of Principal Advisor, you will support strategic transport projects, policy, frameworks, and programs that provide direction for the improvement of the transport system in Queensland including the progress of the Transport Network Pricing (TNP) and national Heavy Vehicle Road Reform (HVRR) projects.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Contributing to effective project management activities to ensure the delivery of tasks in a quality and timely manner. This includes preparing and updating project plans and schedules, reviewing project deliverables, escalating issues as required, and liaising with contractors and procurement teams to complete required tasks as well as supporting effective risk management and probity matters.
- Lead the development of change management process on complex and sensitive issues, including building effective relationships with stakeholders within government and with external stakeholders such as industry and community to support project outcomes.
- Organise and participate in meetings, roundtables, high level forums and committees and support negotiations with stakeholders on complex project issues.
- Prepare timely and high-quality cabinet submissions, briefs, presentations, and reports for senior and executive management under tight timeframes. This includes undertaking relevant research and analysis, writing for impact and tailoring the presentations to the target audience.
- Undertake related project work as directed to support the team's priorities and objectives.
- Actively participating in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.

This position reports to the Manager, Economic Research and Analysis and has no direct reports.
