**About the role**
A Scrum Master is responsible for managing agile forums & artefacts, escalating to scrum of scrums & coaching of squads on agile best practices.
**What is expected from the scrum master?**
Scrum Master is responsible for:
- Managing agile forums & artefacts.
- Administrate work for the squads.
- Coach squads on best practices and ways of working
- Escalating & resolving blockers in SOS
- What am I expected to do as a scrum master
- Responsible for administrative work related to the work the squad is delivering (e.g. Risk & Security Assessments & approvals), help
eliminate any blockers impeding the progress of the squad
- Participates in twice weekly Scrum of scrums for all squads on the developing stage of features for a single Business Outcome with
associated Scrum Masters/RTEs to remove blockers
- Coaches & lead squads on best practice agile ways of working
- Fosters an environment of high performance, continuous flow and relentless improvement
- Facilitates agile forums & manages squad artefacts including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retros & showcases
- Ensures consistency of delivery practices across squad retros & showcases
- Ensure consistent delivery practices across squads
- Coaches Squads on Ways of working & agile practices
- Fosters an environment of high performance, continuous flow and relentless improvement
- Coach & lead squads on best practices agile ways of working
- Escalate & resolve blockers for squads in SOS
- Participates in twice weekly Scrum of Scrums for all squads in developing stage of features for a single business outcome with associate Scrum Masters to remove blockers
- A Scrum Master is responsible for 2 squads
**Key Accountabilities**
- Coach, support & mentor scrum framework practices across the squad
- Lead and facilitate agile forums
- Be the driving force and guide teams to be self-organised, promote a collaborative team environment that foster creativity, innovation,continuous improvement and celebrate successes
- Ensure the Squad is equipped with the right talent, time, tools and skills to do their work, with leaders expected to manage resources(people, budgets, assets) and coach teams to build competence and confidence.
- Gather, analyse, and present data to business stakeholders in a way that demonstrates how the team is improving and growing
- Collaborate with Product Owners to maximise productivity and to ensure effective backlog management
- Manage and build strong, trusted relationships with Engineers and Product Owners to track status of implementation and improverequirements and vision
- Maintain sprint flow by minimising external disturbances, manage risks or impediments and remove blockers and hurdles
- Lead a Scrum process in a highly complex environment (e.g. lower team maturity in Scrum and Agile, higher regulatory compliance and policy alignment requirements, wider range of dependencies, amount or seniority of stakeholders)
- Engage with stakeholders outside of the allocated squad to ensure the Scrum process is s successful and adopted within the allocated Squad
