About us
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is responsible for the supervision of children and young people in the criminal justice system. The two Youth Justice Custodial Precincts in Victoria are managed by the department. Parkville Youth Justice Precinct is located in the inner northern Melbourne suburb of Parkville, and Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct is located approximately 100 kilometres north of Melbourne.
Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.
What does a Business Support Officer do?
As the Business Support Officer, you will support the Director and senior managers at the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct by providing a full range of executive, confidential, administrative, and operational support functions.
You will provide quality customer help desk functions on office management procedures, policy and procedural guidelines and other administrative and general office functions to internal managers, staff and members of the public.
What skills should a Business Support Officer have?
- experience in general office management including the provision of confidential, personal and administrative support functions to a senior manager
- experience maintaining high level of confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive matters
- ability to work collaboratively, operating as an effective team member
- excellent organisational skills being able to cope effectively with changing priorities
- a full and current driver's licence.
Understanding of DJCS policies and procedures is also desirable.
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
