**Heritage & Collections Officer**
**Department of Parliamentary Services**

We're looking for a part-time (22.8 hours per week) ongoing Heritage & Collections Officer to work in the Parliamentary Library.

**About the role**

As a Heritage & Collections Officer working in the Parliamentary Library & Information Services unit, you will assist the management of Parliament's heritage and cultural collections.

Your role will involve updating a variety of databases and impacts the accuracy and availability of information published online that effects the quality of the relationships Parliament has with other heritage and scholarly institutions.

Key responsibilities:

- Source and supply copies of images from the Collection to internal and external clients, taking into consideration reproduction and copyright considerations.
- Maintain the Former Members Biographical Register (Re-Member) database.
- Ensure artworks and other items in the care of the Library's Heritage Collections are managed appropriately with relation to cataloguing, storage, conservation.
- In consultation with the Heritage Coordinator develop and maintain displays across the Parliamentary Precinct.

**About you**

You will bring demonstrated knowledge of working with Heritage, Art or museum collections, alongside:

- Well-developed administrative and organisational skills combined with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing work practices.
- Well-developed customer service, communication and interpersonal skills in both written and oral forms.
- Proven experience in the management of pictorial or other special collections.
- Ability to work effectively with limited direction and as a constructive member of a small team
