**The Role**
Working in a small dynamic team within the Land Command, Control, Communications, and Computing (LC4) Program, the LC4 Budget Officer is responsible for Budget, Costs and Financial Analysis functions. The Budgeting Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex budgeting work within an integrated workforce.

The Budgeting Officer will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex financial issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve LC4 and Defence outcomes.

The Land Command, Control, Communications, and Computing (LC4) Program plays a critical role in delivering and sustaining communications and information systems (CIS) that enable effective command and control, situational awareness, and targeting for the Australian Defence Force. By providing cutting-edge capabilities, the program ensures land commanders can achieve decision superiority in complex operational environments.

Our team works collaboratively across Army, Defence, and external partners to develop and manage the Land C4 Capability System (LC4CS). To be successful in this role, you will:

- Lead and deliver budget support and financial processing, including coordination of budget preparation, financial performance monitoring and reporting in accordance with Defence policies and procedures.
- Prepare and provide advice on complex budget and financial policy to stakeholders.
- Analyse the financial data from across the LC4 Program to identify the financial status.
- Liaise with LC4 SO1s and external Groups, including but not limited to Land Capability Division (LCD), CASG, DSTG, etc to ensure Prpgram priorities as per agreed funding.
- Conduct cost and benchmarking analysis of the LC4 Program and related project and work interdependencies.
- Take a lead role in identifying financial and procurement issues as they arise.
- Actively seek out opportunities to improve processes and team performance and lead and support the change progress.
- Manage, mentor and support the APS 5 Finance Support Officer.
