**About Perioperative Services**

Perioperative Services is a comprehensive dedicated service incorporating all aspects involved in surgical intervention for patients, comprising Triage, Surgical Pre-admission Clinic, Booking Office, Anaesthetic Department, Acute Pain Services, Operating Theatre, Day Surgery Unit and our brand new Day Procedure Centre.

**About the role**

As an Admissions Clerk you will work across both our Day Surgery Unit and the Day Procedure Centre to provide comprehensive administrative support to both teams, and ensure that patients and their families are treated with the highest quality care throughout their admission and discharge experience.

A regular day will see you:

- Pre-admitting patients booked for surgery prior to arrival, and registering, admitting, discharging, transferring and cancelling patients in the Inpatient Management System (iPM) and EMR (EPIC)
- Providing helpful and respectful customer service to patients and consumers
- ?Answering telephone enquiries and contacting patients
- Providing administration support, including data entry into iPM and EPIC

**About you**

You will be someone with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. In this role you’ll need to display initiative, the ability to be flexible within a challenging and at times a high-pressured environment, and to work both independently and in a team.

You’ll bring with you:

- ??A Business Administration qualification and/or relevant administrative and customer service experience
- ?Previous experience in a hospital Admission Clerk role
- Experience using Inpatient Management and Theatre Bookings systems
- Demonstrated experience in the MS Office suite
