
Community Development Worker Funding and Support

Reporting to the Coordinator Community Development, you will be responsible for providing community development work to ensure social cohesion, inclusion and community connectedness as part of Council’s Community Development Program. This position is responsible for the management and delivery of Council’s Grants, Donations and Community Sponsorship Programs. The grants program provides funding to support local community services, programs and networks in Liverpool, as well as broader community development projects and target areas.
Key accountabilities include:
- Managing the Liverpool ClubGrants Scheme and Council’s Grants, Donations and Community Sponsorship Program;
- Delivering community capacity building activities for community organisations and services across Liverpool;
- Assisting community organisations to develop projects and write funding submissions;
- Raise awareness of Council’s functions and services with community members through community engagement programs and activities;
- Building credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders based on communication, teamwork and customer service;
- Consulting on community needs and issues and providing advice to Council in dealing with the day-to-day decisions regarding the needs of the local community; and
- Working to ensure Council’s Community Development Program is based on community needs and aspirations and is broadly understood and supported by stakeholders.
Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.
