**Job description**:
Our Client currently has a vacancy for a H&S Advisor to join them on a contract basis.

**Key areas**:
Risk Assessments:

- Review and update the current risk assessments for the department
- Identify areas that do not have risk assessments in place and carry out the assessments

Standard Operating Procedures:

- Work with the H&S and Security Team Lead and other key stakeholders to develop a SOP format for use across the department
- Review the existing SOPs against the actual tasks preformed and update as required onto the agreed format
- Identify areas that do not have an SOP and create detailed procedures

Incident Investigation:

- Assist with investigation of incidents within the department
- Assist with root cause analysis of incidents within the department

**Requirements**:
Qualifications / Experience:

- Health & Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH
- Experience carrying out risk assessments (essential)
- Experience creating Standard Operating Procedures or Method Statements (essential)
- Experience working with Microsoft Office programs (essential)
- Previous experience in a process industry safety role (desirable)
- Detailed understanding of H&S legislation
- Detailed understanding of accident investigation through a H&S perspective
- Detailed understanding of H&S policies
- Understanding of DSEAR or ATEX regulations (desirable)
- Knowledge of the document control procedures (desirable)
- Innovative individual who looks to improve current practices and procedures

**Skills**:

- Data analysis and interpretation skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office packages
- Good level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident communicator with internal and external audiences, including strong presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise simultaneously

Hours of work: 38 hours per week: Mon-Fri
