**HumeLink West Project**

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

**About the role**
- The Environmental Manager is responsible for the leadership & governance, management, implementation and improvement of all environmental activities and obligations across the Engineering and Construction business. Specifically the Environmental Manager is responsible for leading the environmental and sustainability function for the business, the implementation of the UGL Environmental Management System, the implementation of Environment Management Plans (EMP), auditing environmental compliance, assisting in the reporting and management of environmental incidents, as well as education and training as appropriate. The Environmental Manager provides technical guidance at a project level as well as strategic input at a business level.
- To be successful in this role the Environmental Manager will be focussed on managing, leading and motivating the wider business and project teams; and developing, implementing and monitoring Environmental initiatives to deliver outstanding results.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Carrying out ongoing legal and EIMS compliance auditing and analysis of all related environmental performance, including legislative reviews
- Ensuring the development of EMS, EMP’s, CEMP’s and OEMP’s on all projects
- Compliance with company and legislative requirements
- Induction, education and training programs
- Development, reporting and analysis of environmental objectives and targets
- Environmental event reporting and analysis
- Client and business development proposals
- Participate in client or external audits
- Liaise with regulator on behalf of UGL where required
- Provide expert environmental advise to divisional management, projects and sites
- Provide consistent reviews and investigation (where required) of environmental impacts, hazards and complaints
- Participate in UGL companywide environment and sustainability meetings and strategy sessions

**Qualifications/Experience and Skills**:

- Provide leadership, direction, supervision and inspirational management to all team members (direct & indirect
- Relevant experience with proven ability to lead, manage and implement improved environment and operational sustainability outcomes.
- Conduct Performance Development sessions with all direct
- Degree or Postgraduate qualifications in environmental management or environmental science, engineering or equivalent
- At least 5 years’ experience in Environment Management in a similar industry.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
- Internal HSSE Auditing Qualification (RABQSA, JAS-ANZ or equivalent)
- Root Cause Investigation Qualification: Incident Cause Analyis Method (ICAM).
