**What we do in Australia**
ConocoPhillips Australia was established almost two decades ago. Headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, we are a 47.5 percent shareholder in Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) and operate the APLNG facility on Curtis Island. As the largest producer of natural gas in eastern Australia, we supply Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. In December 2019, ConocoPhillips Australia announced its intention to take a 75 percent interest and operatorship of an exploration tenement in the Otway Basin through a farmout agreement and completed the three-dimensional (3D) marine seismic survey (the Sequoia 3D seismic survey) in Exploration Permit T/49P on 31 October 2021.

We are excited to offer a permanent opportunity within our HSE team based in our Brisbane office for a Lead - Environment and Sustainable Development. The role will report to the Director, Environment and Sustainable Development.
The Lead - Environment and Sustainable Development is responsible for providing effective sustainable development expertise and leadership to the Australia Business Unit (ABU). The role is responsible for continually improving and implementing Sustainable Development elements of the HSE management system and ensuring compliance with emerging company and legislative requirements. In addition, the incumbent will provide collaborative cross functional support to the ABU Shareholder, Joint Venture (JV), Exploration and Operations to enable continual improvement in business performance. The position may engage with external stakeholders and specialists to provides ABU multi-dimensional approaches to solving complex sustainable development aspects.
Day to day, the Lead - Environment and Sustainable Development will be accountable for, but not limited to:
- Lead ABU environment and sustainable development risk management program
- Continually improve ABU sustainable development strategy, including climate change, biodiversity and water
- Lead development and continually improve ABU sustainable development, greenhouse gas (GHG), biodiversity and water long range plans and procedures.
- Review implications of industry sustainable development policy positions and draft legislation on ABU
- Provide collaborative cross function support to enable internal development and external reporting of GHG accounting related matters
- Support operational and project implementation of Company Commitments and Australian legislative GHG requirements
- Lead the development of the ABU compliance carbon credit program
- Support the ABU development of emission reduction projects
- Be a key contributor to ABU joint ventures and COP global company emission reduction and biodiversity working groups
- Provide proxy support to the Director Environment and Sustainable Development on external committees and forums

- Minimum of ten years environment and sustainable development management experience in resources sector or major project development role
