This role offers the opportunity to think creatively, working as part of a passionate team to accelerate Boeing’s sustainability efforts in Australia and to join the growing extended global sustainability team.
The role will require some travel to other Australian sites to conduct duties of the role including participation in workshops, attending industry events and other activities with the wider Boeing Australia organisation. The role may also require occasional international travel.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Provide support to the regional sustainability lead and business unit leaders to develop environmental sustainability activity across Boeing Australia, developing an integrated Australian environmental sustainability plan and aligned plans for individual business units, that considers work across the subsidiaries, business units and functions.
- Deliver and track integrated performance reporting against the environmental sustainability plan through key metrics.
- Provide support to the regional sustainability lead and business unit leaders in developing Australian contribution to Boeing’s annual corporate sustainability report.
- Development and delivery of environmental conservation best practices and employee engagement, aligned to environmental sustainability plans, in support of Boeing enterprise and Australian business unit priorities.
- Lead the development and delivery of business cases for environmental sustainability (eg. carbon reduction, waste) measures for Boeing Australia sites and subsidiaries.
- Secure resources via a gated process for projects to be taken forward.
- Support in-country delivery of initiatives towards Boeing Australia sustainability priorities with partners.
- Provide support to coordination and integration with global sustainability (GES) sustainable operations.
- Support the regional sustainability lead with management and coordination of Boeing Australia sustainability activity and project management.
**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)**:
- 7+ years of work experience in organisation environmental management (preferred within manufacturing and or aerospace industry)
- Ability to obtain Australian security clearance
**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)**:
- Active Australian security clearance
- Previous environmental sustainability strategy and reporting experience
- Experience delivering sustainability related business cases, securing funding and resources
- Relevant qualifications in GHG accounting, renewable energy or waste management
- Experience and/or qualifications in Australian corporate carbon emissions reporting
- Experience managing industrial waste reduction and improvement activities
- Proven ability to work autonomously and/or previous experience in a self-led role
- Strong business acumen and adept problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and proven ability to handle multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously
