This role will assist the existing Support Worker Team to provde Care and Support to participants in our Alcohol and Other Drugs Residential Treatment centre and Withdrawal Unit 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm Saturday & Sunday with other shifts available at times.
- ABout the Role;
- Primary Purpose of the job
- Provide effective support to Participants ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a Participant lead recovery-based service.
- Role Responsibilities
- Provide appropriate support to participants in line with established frameworks and TSA policies and procedures.
- Assist case workers to address client needs, administer the program, contribute to case plans, complete administration tasks and provide supervision to participants.
- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.
- In line with agreed delegation make decisions consistent with TSA Recovery Services and Centre Policy and procedures in relation to participant/staff matters.
- Support Worker tasks identified by Centre Manager or Team Lead may include; driving clients, cleaning and preparing rooms, food preparation, doing laundry, supervising participant groups or activities as required.
- Any other reasonable duties as required.
- About YouQualifications and Experience
- Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (or working towards)
- Knowledge of AOD, Community Services and Health Sectors.
- An understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing AOD related issues, mental ill health and other disabilities.
- Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
- Requirements of the role
- A national police record check is required.
- Hold and maintain a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Driver’s licence.
- Willingness and ability to work shifts across the week - Monday to Sunday, including overnight shifts.
- Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date.
