**About the role - you with be responsible for**:

- Lead and supervise a team of finance operation professionals managing large rent roll volumes across both direct consumers and consumers via agencies
- Manage and reconcile trust accounts in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to trust accounting
- Ensure timely and accurate processing and recording of transactions, reconciliation of accounts and financial records
- Review and approve trust account transactions and prepare month-end reporting for Licensee in Charge sign-off
- Lead trust account banking matters
- Work closely with internal teams and clients to resolve any trust accounting issues or discrepancies
- Work closely with regulators and auditors on trust account matters. Run the trust account audit process.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in trust accounting regulations and best practices
- Provide training and support to team members as needed
- Proactively lead the continuous improvement of trust accounting processes and procedures. Identify and implement best practice.
- Be a client advocate and representative for Different's trust account function
- Ability to manage both the details and the broader roadmap
- Ability to operate with tight deadline and at excellent output quality
- Contribute and lead trust account projects, including:

- Working closely with our Finance, Operations and Product teams to assist in the build and scaling of our in-house trust accounting platform (high profile)
- Pre-empting common issues. Proactively recommend practical and best practice operational solutions and partner with the technology team to arrive at suitable technology designs / solutions.

**Who you are**
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a team leadership role in Property Management / Real Estate Trust Accounting
- Holder of an active real estate licence, as appropriate
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and best practices affecting real estate trusts and property management
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting
- Experience with trust accounting software and systems
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders
- Good leadership skills
- Degree in accounting and/or finance, plus post-graduate accounting/finance qualifications as appropriate
