The opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Trust & Accounts Manager to join our team in our Sydney office. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the firm's trust accounts and financial reporting, ensuring the highest standards of compliance and accuracy.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the firm's trust accounts, including processing client funds, reconciliations and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements governing trust account management
  • Prepare monthly trust account and financial reports for Partners and external auditors
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments in a timely manner
  • Liaise with clients, banks and external stakeholders on trust account matters
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm's accounting systems and processes.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a trust accounting or senior accounts role, preferably within a professional services firm
  • Excellent knowledge of trust accounting principles, legal requirements and best practices
  • Strong financial management skills, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and reporting
  • Proficient in using accounting software (MYOB, Xero, or similar) and MS Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
