**The Role**

Black Star Pastry is thriving and we're looking for a Kitchen Hand/Prep to join our team in our St Kilda Production Kitchen, located in the iconic Prince of Wales precinct.

This is a casual role for someone to assist our Chefs as an all-rounder with cleaning and preparation, and suited to either experienced Kitchen Hands or those looking for an opportunity to experience a professional kitchen environment.

We offer reliable day time hours, stable employment and the rare opportunity to achieve work/life balance in a hospitality role.

**Great casual rates - $27.46 (Mon-Fri) and $32.96 (Weekends).**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Clean and wash dishes ensuring the work area is kept clean and sanitary in accordance with BSP standards.
- Clean and restock areas daily, including monitoring and rotating stock levels in the dry store.
- Clean miscellaneous kitchen machinery/equipment periodically.
- Assist with cutting and preparation of ingredients and garnishes
- At the end of each shift, clean down all relevant areas and keep the general kitchen area in a clean and tidy state.

**About You**
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is helpful but not essential.
- Able to build effective and constructive relationships - a true team player
- Ability to communicate professionally.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing business demands.
