
Legal Support Officer

**The role**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Analyse existing policies and regulations to identify gaps, areas for improvement, or potential conflicts.
- Conduct legal research to ensure that policies comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and draft new policies, regulations, and guidance documents that address legal issues.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may affect the organization and recommending appropriate responses.
- Assist RFQ team to review work orders, proposals and contracts.
- Conduct audits and assessments of HR processes, systems, and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Stay informed on industry-specific regulations and best practices, and proactively identify potential areas of risk and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with Xaana's technology professionals and pursuits teams to negotiate and manage a wide variety of technology pursuits and agreements, including large-scale technology transformation projects.
- Collaborate with our colleagues locally and globally on issues relating to complex global technology initiatives and projects.
**Required Skills and Experience**
- Degree in Law.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Legal policy officer or related role.
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for legal technology, including knowledge of functional areas (technology, privacy, data, Digital Goods, IP, patents and commercial contracting), and providing advice to proactively identify issues which may impact strategy, operational issues or business processes.
- Sufficient exposure to employment matters to support the HR team on an ad hoc basis
- Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is highly beneficial
- Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Aptitude for staying current on industry trends and changes in compliance regulations.
