Your new role

As a Legal Support Officer, you will provide critical administrative and litigation support to legal practice groups. Working under general direction, you will manage case files, prepare court materials, coordinate witnesses, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering a broad range of support services in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Key duties include:

  • Creation and administration of case files, records management, and data entry
  • Drafting routine correspondence and legal documents from templates
  • Witness coordination, including drafting summons/subpoenas and arranging travel
  • Preparing and lodging court materials, and managing deliveries and collections
  • Conducting basic research and arranging video conferencing, interpreters, and translators
  • Liaising with legal professionals, courts, and external agencies

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience in a legal or government environment (APS experience highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of legal administrative processes and digital litigation tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and build positive stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline AGSVA security clearance (Australian Citizenship required)
  • Willingness to undergo a national police check
