Leading a key function within the Operations leadership team, established to implement a global sourcing framework to support growth and drive scale. The global head of strategic sourcing will be responsible to develop category based best practice procurement methodologies to support the profitability of the business through improved contractual and commercial terms, including pricing and payment terms, ensuring continuity of supply to assist in delivering projects on time and under budget. The role promotes sustainable sourcing practices, working closely with Design & Development (HW & SW) teams to develop a global supplier portfolio that will support product and technology roadmaps across all markets Coates operates in.

**Responsibilities**:

- Development of the global strategic sourcing function, partnering with stakeholders to drive commercial and operational efficiency and implement initiatives to drive shareholder wealth
- Creation & execution of a high-level sourcing strategy for all HW that aligns with product & technology roadmaps to build resilient supply chains
- With regional Sourcing teams, identifies gaps and weaknesses across the supply base & actively develops mitigation strategies to secure supply
- Implement contractual requirements for suppliers to allow for consistency in commercial terms, globally and regionally, to support project objectives, articulated in MSA & SLA’s
- Lead strong sourcing governance practices to ensure the business meets or exceeds the legislated requirements including Modern Slavery
- Drives performance against cost savings programs, supplier risk mitigation strategies & quality improvements to manage risk.
- Oversees sourcing processes including opportunity assessment, business case cost analysis, supplier due diligence, supplier strategy development, supplier Requests for Quotation (RFQ), negotiation, award recommendations, supplier award, and supplier contract execution..
- Drives a global strategic sourcing team to embrace a continuous improvement culture
- Chairs appropriate supplier forums for broader engagement across the organization, e.g., QBR’s technology roadshows etc
- Oversees the design and development with 3rd party vendors, SW solutions to manage RFQ’s, RFP’s, Global spend analysis, quality KPI’s etc
- Delivery of annual global cost savings programs that meet budget expectations
- Delivery of a resilient supply chain that is designed to ensure security of supply
- Manages a high performing team, globally dispersed across Manufacturing, Sourcing & Quality functions in USA, China & AU
- Delivers a simplified supplier base with the consolidation of vendors to drive efficiency and cost savings
- Delivery of a best practice Global Sourcing practice
- Develops talent to builds sustainable & capable regional & global sourcing teams
- Fosters a long-term Sourcing mindset, building strategic supplier partnerships
- Supports functional leaders across the business on sourcing & procurement initiative RFPs & MSA’s to tighten performance controls for risk mitigation

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- 15+ years of Procurement, Supply Chain or Engineering experience, minimum 10+ years in a Strategic Sourcing role
- Bachelor's degree / Masters in Sup
