**Job Type**: 12 months contract

Salary Range: $362.50 per day + Super

Hours: 40 per week, 5 days ( 2 WFH arrangement negotiable)

Join our client, a prominent local council, as a Waste/Sustainability Coordinator and make a significant impact on operational efficiency and sustainability outcomes. Identify improvement opportunities, implement recycling initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve waste goals in council buildings. Track progress and report on waste performance while working closely with the COO project teams.

**Primary Purpose of the Position**:
Our client a well know local council is seeking a dedicated Waste Services Coordinator for the team and drives operational efficiency in waste services at the council’s own buildings. In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying improvement opportunities, implementing recycling initiatives, and engaging stakeholders to achieve our operational waste goals and improve overall sustainability outcomes. Working closely with project teams in the COO department, you will report on waste performance and track progress against targets.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Waste Contract Management_
- Manage day-to-day waste operation activities and requests.
- Oversee waste contract management, including waste audits and SLM (Service Level Management) tracking.
- Respond to requests through effective stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills. Reporting:

- Assist in accurate and timely reporting on the City's waste operation targets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders within and across divisions to gather necessary data for reporting purposes.
- Process Improvement_
- Identify process improvement opportunities within waste services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency in processes.
- Recycling Initiatives_
- Identify and implement recycling initiatives that align with operational targets and improve overall sustainability outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote and drive participation in recycling programs.

**Key Challenges**:

- Working with multiple stakeholders and effectively communicating to resolve issues.
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent results within a fast-paced environment.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience.
- Strong focus on sustainability and a passion for driving positive environmental outcomes.
- A degree in a related field or a few years of experience in a similar role.
- Creative thinking and the ability to think independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address process inefficiencies.
