**Inventory Officer**

As our Inventory Officer your role will work closely with the Merchandise Coordinator, assisting with sourcing and managing the inventory across multiple museum shops and our online offer. The role supports MHNSW to meet business demands and undertakes critical functions in order to help generate revenue and meet audience expectations.

**What the opportunity is**:

- Employment with Museums of History NSW.
- Clerk Grade 1/2. Remuneration package includes salary ($70,694 - $76,857 full-time equivalent), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Part-time (28 hours per week) temporary employment for a period up to 12 months.
- As this is a new role, a review will be conducted at 6 months on the overall financial metrics of the Retail function. This review is based on the role not individual performance.
- The role will work across Sydney.

**What we do**
MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.

**What you’ll do with us**
This role will provide coordination and planning of Museums of History NSW’s retail merchandise and publications to increase self-generated revenue.

- Briefly outline your experience in retail, specifically with regard to merchandise inventory. What would you describe as your biggest challenge in any of your roles to date, and how did you deal with them?
- Give an example of where you have used your retail or other employment experience to improve upon systems and procedures.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Experience in customer service, administration, and records management in a retail environment.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Experience working with point of sale systems.
- Experience working with eCommerce systems, product listings and fulfilment.
- Ability to manage lifting, carrying, kneeling, and moving around heritage sites (both internal and external environments).
- Current NSW Drivers’ Licence.
- Willingness to work across and ability to travel to multiple work locations.

**Also note**:

- A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.
