Data Designer

About the role

As a Data Solution Designer, you will have deep affinity with data and metadata.

**Your role will be to design data solutions by**:
1. Identifying the optimal solution for both the given problem and for the end-to-end environment - taking into account all constraints

2. Identifying the path from the current state to the optimal solution;
3. Making, documenting, and defending rational decisions

4. Hands-on prototyping solutions through experimentation.

What will your day look like

Identify, monitor and manage risks, issues and dependencies, agreeing appropriate risk responses
Ensure risk culture is embedded in the team
Ensure compliance to ANZ policies and procedures
Design and build solutions that meet user/customer needs
Ability to build and maintain inclusive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate change
Enable continuous delivery practices to increase delivery speed
Ability to work closely with key stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships
Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making
Work in collaborative and inclusive teams to build innovative solutions and helps to guide and support less experienced team members in the Tribe
Design and deliver solution on a variety of technologies that meet user needs
Strong understanding of the underlying technologies and the skill to build sustainable engineering/solution development disciplines within your team
Understanding of solution development lifecycles and relevant delivery controls
Utilise tools and best practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways

- Optimise data flows by building robust, fault-tolerant data pipeline that cleans, transforms, and aggregates data into databases or data sources
Data management (data mapping, modelling)

**Experience/exposure with several data processing platforms**:
Cloud platforms, Either GCP / AWS / Azure (preferred)
Traditional RDBMS, Either Teradata / Oracle / other (mandatory & proficient)
Experience driving value out of metadata
Python (mandatory)
Other programming languages - Java / C++ / other (preferred)
BI - Qlik / tableau / R (preferred)
Experience with Agile ways of working at scale
Innovation and problem solving skills
Hands-on knowledge and experience in the use of Jira, Confluence and Git
Hands-on knowledge and experience on ETL, automated data pipeline and productionisation (advantageous)
Experience in testing (management and execution)
Hands-on knowledge and proficiency in using tools to manage projects effectively - Git/GitHub, Bamboo, Jira, Confluence
