**Position Information**: Grays Point Public School is located on the boundary of the Royal National Park in the Sutherland Shire and has a student population of 373 students from the local area. The school is recognised as a "small' community school by families, many of whom have had a long association with the school and local area over generations. The school is strongly supported by families as part of a community working together. The P & C is an active supporter of all school programs; funding both specialist staff including the well-being officer, climbing equipment and facility upgrades that provide a welcoming and supportive learning environment. Grays Point Public School has long standing positive relationships with the wider community, parents and carers are regular volunteers in classrooms and run the Ethics program each week. Our school values parents and carers as partners in learning. At Grays Point there is a focus on 4C pedagogy, to ensure all students develop the skills in communication, creativity, collaboration and critical reflection. The school focus areas for improvement include differentiation, student engagement and effective use of data for teaching and learning to improve results in literacy and numeracy. **Selection Criteria**: In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with an emphasis on 3-6 and ability to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complex leadership and management role of an Assistant Principal Demonstrated capacity to lead school improvement initiatives in literacy and/or numeracy reflecting evidenced-based based pedagogical practice, with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrated highly visible leadership with proven capacity to collaborate and engage with students, staff and wider community. Proven ability to lead whole school programs that support well-being and engagement programs designed to promote a positive school culture, student leadership as well as enhanced learning and support programs that support the individual needs of students. **General Selection Criteria**: 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice - 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6.
