**About the Role**

The Principal Adviser Climate Change Adaptation will be a technical specialist responsible for the provision of technical advice for climate change related assessments and projects.

The Principal Adviser Climate Change Adaptation will work within a dynamic environment to manage regulatory issues of a complex nature by leading, investigating, and providing expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders on site and/or neighbourhood or regional based risk assessment, climate adaptation responses and controls or compliance matters with respect to climate change adaptation and preparedness. The Principal Adviser Climate Change Adaptation will contribute to the development, management and maintenance of specialist projects and support EPA’s role in Climate Change policy and regulation development and execution and in implementing EPA’s strategic priorities.

This role will also provide leadership and guidance for two newly established climate change risk assessment and advice positions.

The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the _Environment Protection Act 1993_ (EP Act) and the _Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021_ (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

**Essential Qualification**
- Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or environmental engineering, or other relevant qualification.

**Desirable Qualification**
- Post graduate qualification in environmental engineering, or an environmental science, earth science, or environmental management related field.

**Remuneration**

PO4 ($110,696 - $120,470 per annum) or PO5 ($124,449 - $130,253 per annum) + 11.5% super added to your choice of super fund.

**The incumbent will be remunerated at either the PO4 or PO5 level depending on their education, experience, and capabilities.**
