**Community Engagement Officer opportunity**
- **$55-$65 per hour plus super dependent on experience**:

- **Full-time, 2-3 months contract. Immediate start**:

- **Melbourne CBD location/WFH Arrangement**

**About the role**

Our client, a government agency, requires an experienced Community Engagement Officer to provide advice and support to the department staff on engaging with communities, stakeholders and partners. The role also supports staff capability and a cultural change program that delivers on the department's Community Charter and supports staff to engage effectively.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Develop approaches, systems and tools to support active and meaningful community engagement
- Provide strategic advice and practical support to staff in planning and undertaking engagement with communities and stakeholders
- Support the development and implementation of plans to build the skills, capability and culture that will enable the department to work better with communities and make collaborative decisions
- Assist the department to support communities to better prepare for, respond to and recover from bushfire and other emergencies
- Coordinate work with Victorian communities to ensure consistency of outcomes for communities and the department
- Support community and stakeholder engagement with state level organisations and peak bodies about forest, fire and emergency management
- Engage with Victorian communities and stakeholders

**Qualifications and Experience**

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

- Tertiary qualifications qualifications or demonstrated experience in community engagement, community development, stakeholder management and change management.
- Relevant experience and knowledge in community engagement, community development or a related discipline.
