The **Head of Product** is responsible for identifying the appropriate product for the company’s current and future markets, driving sales and margin improvement.
**Be able to work at a fast pace, able to deliver multitask projects to a deadline. You will need to have the ability to create and present garment ranges and collections to clients and reps featuring colours and fabrics. You will need to have management skills to lead a growing team. This person needs to be strong, structured and disciplined whilst being creative with designing and creating new ranges to suit future customer needs.**
Reviewing and implementing positive changes to maximise the skills of the team and ensure the business is full across the industry, trends, competitors and emerging opportunities. Ensuring the ranges are fresh and relevant and ensuring that the company maintains its lead in the market. You will provide market advantage and how to introduce and remove lines in conjunction with the Sales, Operations and Retail Teams
**Qualifications, skills and experience**
Product management experience WITHIN FASHION APPAREL INDUSTRY; Minimum 5 years experience working in a complex service delivery environment; Minimum 5 years of marketing and team leadership experience in an apparel marketplace. Experience in retail; logistics or manufacturing environment; highly regarded Computer skills (excel, outlook, word)
This is **NOT** a **HYBRID** opportunity. Working solely from the premises in the South East.

The Head of Product works in conjunction with the General Manager of Sales and Marketing and is responsible for identifying the appropriate product mix for the company’s current and future markets, driving sales and margin improvement. The role is responsible for reviewing and implementing positive changes to maximise the skills of the team and ensures the business is full across industry trends, competitors and emerging opportunities. Ensures the company’s product range is fresh and relevant and positions the company as the industry leader. The Head of Product deeply understands the company’s capabilities and identifies opportunities for innovation that provide market advantage and how to introduce and remove lines in conjunction with Sales, Operations and Retail Teams.
This role is important to our client because it ensures our products reflect our market, without which they could not deliver great customer service and put smiles on the faces of customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Strategy
- Formulates and implements short and long-term plans in line with strategic direction agreeing with targets with direct reports and managing delivery of targets
- Contributes to the business planning and budget process, monitors and reports on progress towards achieving new business sales contribution to the company strategy
- Liaises with Wholesale and Retail Sales to interpret successful fits, finish and fabric trends
- Ensures effective use of resources to meet the forecasted new business budget
- Generates and evaluates new product ideas and suggestions, investigates market opportunities and estimates their effect on markets for existing products whilst ensuring the removal of historic products to prevent the build-up of slow-moving stock
- Evaluates the feasibility of proposed products, forecast potential sales and recommend the introduction of potentially profitable products
- Plans and co-ordinates the development and introduction of new products with the Product Coordinator and Sales Teams, including marketing, pricing, financial and manufacturing aspects
- Reviews sales performance of existing products and implement approved changes in pricing, the product’s categorisation, e.g. Stock or Customer Special, etc
