**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
**Summary of the role**:The position will be responsible for identifying patients without Medicare and providing education and support to medical, nursing and clerical staff. The Patients without Medicare Liaison Officer (PWMLO) will assist patients in understanding the benefits of their Private Health Insurance, out of pocket expenses and processing of their claims.

This role is also responsible for billing, backfilling Private Patient Liaison Officer, assisting staff with completion of paperwork, fund interpretation and answering general enquiries both internal and external.

The role actions Patients Without Medicare bookings by determining visa status, completing health fund checks, interprets the eligibility outcomes and advises patients by providing them with informed financial consent.
- Full time position - 0730 to 1600 Monday to Friday
- Located on Level 1, Patient Services Department, Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Highly development admin skills with accurate attention to detail and good knowledge of Australian Private Health Insurance funds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and able to liaise with all stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Sound knowledge of overseas students, overseas visitors and bridging visas.
- Efficient and effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable with a can-do attitude.

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services.
