Brand new opportunity within our People & Culture team, which will partner with business leaders to support Metcash’s Industrial Relations (IR) strategy & Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
Ultimately (along with the Senior IR Manager), you will be the interface between the business and our wider People & Culture team on all IR matters. We are seeking a collaborative individual with ability to bring our teams together and develop robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do
IR Strategy
Deliver the Metcash IR strategy, tailoring where necessary to meet the specific needs of a pillar or function
Assist in the workplace reforms project including review of the framework, governance and policy review
Undertake industrial relations analysis to assist in the implementation of industrial relations strategy
Enterprise Agreements
Partner with leaders in enterprise agreement negotiations and ensure that enterprise agreement negotiation is conducted within the parameters of the company’s industrial relations framework
Drafting and negotiating enterprise bargaining agreements, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
Advising leaders through the enterprise bargaining process
Lodgement of enterprise agreements through to Fair Work
Provide leaders with up-to-date industrial relations advice and information
Operational Requirements
Provide support on industrial relations issues including disputes, grievances, union consultation and EA wage negotiations
Stakeholder management both internal and external
Managing relationships with unions and ensuring that decisions are consistent with Metcash’s core values and behaviours
Participating in projects focused on continuous improvement
Coach and build the capacity of frontline leaders to manager IR effectively
What you’ll bring
**To shine in this position, experience is likely to include**:
Experience in a technical industrial relations role within a large organization operating under multiple enterprise agreements
Previous enterprise agreement negotiation experience
Skills in working across and effectively influencing stakeholders across a range of levels within an organisation
Skills across coaching and influencing leaders
Ability to work autonomously, use initiative but know when to seek assistance
High level of knowledge and understanding of industrial relations legislation
Sounds problem solving skills, able to analyse facts or data to determine root causes of challenges and then able to propose solutions
Constructive and collaborative style
