**About the opportunity**
NSW Health Pathology currently has an position available for a Permanent Part Time Medical Laboratory Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to expand on your pathology knowledge and work in a busy and diverse Transfusion Laboratory.

The RPA Blood Bank Laboratory at Camperdown is staffed by an amazing team who understand and value hard work, excellence and teamwork. We believe in providing the best service and are ready to welcome a new Medical Laboratory Technician to the team. You will be joining a team providing the full range of blood products and a comprehensive transfusion testing service to RPA and it's associated facilities. This is a diverse role, requiring an energetic and professional team player. This position will require you to work weekends, public holidays and overnight shifts.

**What you'll be doing**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems
- Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staff
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
- Availability to participate in a range of shifts across a 24 hour/ 7 day per week roster, including weekends, public holidays and overnight shifts
