Pharmacy Technician

Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is seeking motivated and enthusiastic applicants to fill two Pharmacy Technician positions:

- Aseptic Support Technician
- Dispensary Technician

**Aseptic Support Technician**

The Aseptic Support Technician will work primarily within the on-site aseptic manufacturing suite, supporting the compounding team. Primary responsibilities for the role include:

- Worksheet preparation
- Batch assembly
- Product decontamination
- Dispatching finished products to the Day Therapy Unit
- Environmental monitoring
- Dispensing PBS and non-PBS scripts
- Other processes relating to product preparation and facility maintenance
- Be committed to ensuring product quality and patient safety
- Be able to perform tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks appropriately
- Be able to work well and communicate clearly with other team members
- Be able to stay calm and maintain all of the above qualities while working under time pressure
- Be computer literate and able to quickly learn new programs
- Be responsible and reliable

Previous experience in pharmacy and/or aseptic compounding is desirable but not essential. Extensive training for all responsibilities will be provided, regardless of prior experience.

**Dispensary Technician**

The Dispensary Technician will work primarily as an Imprest technician within the in-patient team. Primary responsibilities for the role include:

- Managing stock levels for Theatres, Post Anaesthetics Recovery Unit (PARU), Radiation Oncology unit and Clinics. As well as other areas as needed.
- Ordering stock for the above areas in co-ordination with the In-Patient services manager.
- Delivery of medication throughout the hospital as required
- Fulfill other roles within the dispensary as needed such as:

- Answering patient and health staff queries
- Dispensing medications for both in and out patients
- Delivery of urgent medications as requested

Previous experience in hospital pharmacy is desirable but not essential. Extensive training for all responsibilities will be provided, regardless of prior experience.

Both positions are full time and start at Grade 1 (with the potential to advance in the future).
