The Head of Small Business is responsible for overseeing the Small Business portfolio within Claims Management, ensuring end-to-end claims management across statutory and common law claims, employer and stakeholder engagement, and premium management. The role plays a key part in shaping and implementing strategic Return to Work (RTW) and rehabilitation initiatives within the regulatory framework to drive sustainable outcomes.

As a senior leader, you will oversee a team of up to twelve frontline leaders, managing a workforce of up to 120 full-time equivalent employees. This portfolio supports small, non-government businesses, contributing to strategic and operational initiatives that drive long-term success.

The role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Small Business portfolio, overseeing claims management, Return to Work (RTW) strategies, and stakeholder engagement to drive sustainable outcomes. It involves leading and mentoring frontline leaders and specialists, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture, and ensuring effective onboarding and capability development. Additionally, the role collaborates with internal teams to optimise resource planning and team growth while implementing initiatives that align with the broader claims management strategy and the evolving needs of small business customers.

**A bit about you**:

- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, with a strong track record of driving successful outcomes and delivering measurable business impact.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic and operational management, including the ability to develop, implement, and execute business plans that enhance performance, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
- In-depth knowledge of the commercial, industrial, and regulatory landscape affecting WorkCover and its stakeholders, with the ability to navigate complex environments and influence decision-making at multiple levels.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across internal teams, industry bodies, and external partners to drive collaboration and positive outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead transformational change, driving innovation and continuous improvement in complex environments while fostering a culture of adaptability, accountability, and high performance.
