**The role**
As a Small Business Banker your role is to serve and grow a portfolio of current and future clients to reach their business goals with a little help from Great Southern Bank along the way. Supporting non-personal customers who have need for commercial and investment finance, the Small Business team’s main objective is to retain and grow our commercial book while providing service and expertise to Small Business customers on all products that will enhance their business and personal needs.
At Great Southern Bank you run your desk like it's your own business, managing both internal and external relationships to develop business opportunities. You promote complex and commercial lending solutions to our existing customers and focus on the acquisition of new customers through a range of channels. You develop and grow introducer and lead referral relationships by sourcing new sales opportunities, ultimately becoming a 'Go To' lending expert for all things complex and commercial.
In this role you will be..
- Building and managing business lending referral sources - Internally as well as externally with accredited brokers, referral and direct and digital channels.
- Establishing yourself as a go-to contact point for business banking by proactively contacting existing small business customers to develop an understanding of their business and their goals.
- Sizing up lending opportunities, writing credit proposals, and managing to drawdown: Business Loans, Overdrafts, Home Lending and other everyday products.
- Identifying and referring opportunities for partner products, such as Unsecured Overdrafts, Equipment Finance, Merchants, and Payments.
- Keeping a well-managed portfolio by conducting account reviews as required, and undertaking retention and customer contact activities.
**A little bit about you**
- Experienced Banker with a proven record in relationship driven sales role, ideally supporting SME clients.
- Developed solid knowledge of end-to-end commercial lending from origination, credit submission, fulfilment, and settlement.
- A history of proactively developing and maintaining relationships with clients.
- Ability to analyse financial records including cash flow, P&L, balance sheets and working capital ratios and calculations.
- Degree qualification in a Business discipline would be highly desired.
